President Ion Iliescu signed the appointment decrees of the new ministers in the Năstase cabinet. Dan Ioan Popescu, Ioan Rus and Ioan Talpeş have been named secretaries of state, Speranta Maria Ianculescu has got the environment portfolio and Victor Ponta is in charge with controlling the implementation of the UE acquis. Cristian Diaconescu has replaced Rodica Stănoiu at the head of the Justice Ministry.
