Central and local institutions fail to meet requirements of the Anti-corruption Law

Less than a quarter of the institutions controlled by the prime minister and the government meet the requirements of the Anti-corruption Law regarding the conflict of interests. According to a report by the Centre for Juridical Resources and the Foundation for an Open Society, suggestvely called „Anti-corruption as a joke”, 28 of the 45 institutions directly subordinated to the government did not even have internet sites in March 2004. Nor did they publish the wealth and interests declarations of its personnel as stipulated by the Anti-corruption Law. The same law enjoys even less respect at local level.
