An opinion poll carried out by CURS for the daily Adevarul concluded that 33% of the respondents considered Prime Minister Adrian Năstase the best presidential candidate, while 25% named Theodor Stolojan (PNL) as their first choice. Mircea Geoană (PSD) garnered 12% of the votes, Corneliu Vadim Tudor 11% and Lia Roberts 3%.
Asked about their party preferences, 32% of the respondents thought PSD would manage to improve Romania’s economic situation, 24% trusted PNL – PD in this respect. 11% said they would vote for PRM.
