The Christian Democratic parlamentary group demanded the dismissal of Parliament Speaker Eugenia Ostapciuc (The Communist Party). PPCD leader Iurie Roşca accused Ostapciuc on Friday of "professional incompetence and systematic violation of Parliamenty rules," and urged her to free the apartment she "illegally occupies in Chisinau downtown."
PPCD also demanded a complete report regarding construction of four apartments in another block in the centre of the capital, and the names of all lawmakers and parliament assistants who had received apartments since 1990.
The Christian Democrats demanded the dismissal of the chairman of the Chamber of Auditors, and a parliamentary investigation into how Ostapciuc has administrated parliamentary finances since appointment to the post of speaker in 2001. They announced the intention to block further plenary sessions unless their demands were fulfilled.
