US ambassy published a statement correcting Health Minister Brinzan's assertion regarding the volume of funds Washington had been willing to give for anti-corruption measures within the Romanian sanitary system. Mentioning that the financial assistance amounted to $400000 and not $300000 as Brinzan had said, the American Ambassy stated that in spite of the apparent lack of interest manifested by the Health Ministry, United States is willing to cooperate with those wishing a real improvement of health services.
