OSCE ambassador deplores Chisinau electoral debacle

The head of OSCE’s mission to Moldova William Hill deplored that the mayoral elections in Chisinau could not be validated due to low turnout. Ambassador William Hill said, according to a statement on the OSCE website, that: "the OSCE has already recommended the elimination of the current threshold of one-third of voters for local elections. We have also noted an extremely low-key electoral campaign, so the latest failure to elect a mayor does not come as a surprise."
