A new round of settlement talks on Transdniester took place in Tiraspol and Chisinau on 26 and 27 January. The only result of the negociations held in the 5+2 format (conflicting parties, mediators: Russia, Ukraine, OSCE and observers: USA and EU) is the agreement to hold another round of talks in a month’s time. OSCE ambassador to Moldova William Hill said that the conflicting parties did not relinquish their old positions making thus impossible any progress.
