Moldovan aircraft, chartered by a Turkish company, crashes in Iraq

An Antonov aircraft operated by Aeriantur-M Airlines and chartered to fly Turkish construction workers to Iraq, crashed on approach to the Balad Air Base, a US base 80 km north of Baghdad on January 9. 35 people, of which 5 Moldovan crew members, died in the accident. The Civil Aviation Administration of the Republic of Moldova banned on January 10 all flights to countries with risk zones.
