Senate Commission amends National Integrity Agency law

On the 25 of January the Romanian Senate Juridical Commission amended the draft of the National Integrity Agency (NIA) Law previously modified by the House of Deputies. Enabling the NIA inspectors to check the wealth of dignitaries besides their capacity to verify the oficial wealth statements, the Senate draft comes closer to the law version proposed by the Government.

On the other hand, senators denied NIA the prerogative to handle cases of status incompatibility.
