Talks between delegations of the Romanian Orthodox and the Russian Orthodox Church took place on November 22 at the Bulgarian monastery Troyan on the decision by the Romanian Orthodox Church Synod to reactivate three dioceses in the Republic of Moldova which had been closed by Soviet authorities in 1944. The two sides failed to reach an agreement, but pledged to continue the dialog.
