On Thursday morning, the Transnistrian administration cut off the power supplies to the Union Fenosa company, the main electricity distribution network in the central and southern regions of Moldova. Union Fenosa said that owing to the disconnection of high-voltage transmission lines some 50 villages on the left bank of the Dniester River were left without electricity.
Residents of several villages on the left bank of the Dniestr River, subordinated to Chisinau, threatened to block the Camenca-Tiraspol highway, if the Transnistrian administration failed to resume the power supply to their villages.
