The Cernavoda nuclear plant, Romania's only nuclear station, was shut down on 30 January after a valve failed to operate normally during a routine check. This was the second time this month that the Canadian-designed nuclear reactor had been turned off due to the same malfunction. The Energy Ministry said the plant would be restarted on 4 February.
