Serafim Urechean elected leader of Our Moldova Alliance

The Our Moldova Alliance (MNA) elected Serafim Urechean as its only leader at a congress held in Chisinau on 25 June. Since its creation in 2003, the MNA had been headed by three co-chairmen: Serafim Urechean, Dumitru Braghis, and Vyacheslav Untila. The congress also adopted a new political platform according to which the MNA is a "center-right party of social liberal orientation." Urechean resigned as mayor of Chisinau in April to take up his parliamentary seat which he won in the parliamentary elections on 6 March, in the name of the Democratic Moldova Bloc, an ecclectic alliance dissolved soon after the ballot.
