Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin accused Bucharest of promoting an aggressive policy of naturalizing Moldovan citizens by taking advantage of their desire to move freely in EU countries. In an interview with NIT TV, Voronin supported EU representative Kalman Mizsei's recent declaration to the effect that Bruxelles wanted Romania to restrict its naturalization policy. President Voronin added that "Romania has exceeded its prerogatives as a EU state and has been pursuing its long cherished goal of naturalizing all Moldovans".
