Speaking on Ekho Moskvy radio on 26 February, Moldovan President Voronin said tensions with Russia, if any, were due to the preelection situation and expressed his confidence that the relations with Moscow would normalize after the 6 March polls. Voronin opined that the Moldovan opposition was supported by unspecified Russian political forces in Moscow.
