At a meeting on Saturday, July 10, the Standing Delegation of the ruling Social Democrat Party (PSD) decided to suspend its activity until the extraordinary party congress scheduled for August. The Standing Delegation has been temporarily replaced with a Coordinating Bureau whose members are supposedly loyal to party leader Adrian Nastase.
At the same meeting the Standing Delegation decided a cabinet reshuffle releasing from office with one exception (Justice Minister Cristian Diaconescu) all ministers appointed to the newly founded Coordinating Bureau. According to the adopted decision, Gheorghe Emacu will replace Administration Minister Gabriel Oprea, Bogdan Niculescu Duvaz will take over the Labor Ministry from Marian Sirbu, Adriana Ticau will become Communications Minister replacing Dan Nica and the Agriculture Ministry will pass from Ilie Sirbu to Petre Daea.
