A month after his Communist Party won the parliamentary elections Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev gained parliament's approval for a new cabinet. Tarlev got the votes of his party's 56 deputies, while 21 members of the opposition Our Moldova Alliance voted against his cabinet. The other three opposition parties abstained from the vote.
