Din întâmplare sau nu, tot pe 21 martie este Ziua mondială a Poeziei – îngăduie-mi-se să particip şi eu la această sărbătoare, printr-un text transpus de Adam J. Sorkin în limba, dacă nu a lui Shakespeare, cel puţin a lui John Lennon (amintind, între paranteze, că „Sorkin’s translations with Diana Manole of six of Galaicu-Păun’s poems were honored in the 2017-18 John Dryden Translation Competition [UK] of the British Comparative Literature Association/the British Centre for Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia (the award of second prize), and are currently awaiting publication in the BCLA journal and on its website. Sorkin’s translations of other Galaicu-Păun poems have also been nominated for Pushcart, Sundress Best of the Net, and Dzanc Best of the Net prizes”):
[from brain to sex the spine…]
from brain to sex the spine is designed to change gears like a bicycle chain, my love.
a bicycle named desire. the balanced
movement of her hand while she leads the way – as we ape
the beast with two backs – I lightly stroke her vertebrae, then she slips
through my fingers like a bead necklace, a space-time continuum. pedaling in the nakedness
of her legs that chain me in viparita maithuna – while
along highway 69 (“the road of longing”) we loop on
la tour de france – now accelerating, now clasping
her soles in pious prayer, and she communicates names to time: Yin Time. a response
comes like a reply – from the point of view
of a corpse (“then, oh, beauty! shout out to the vermin…”) –
like Ion Neculce: “worms, my god” she is not as I am and is when I am not. does life expectancy
in men show itself to be no more than a pair of bare legs
below the hem of an amazon’s skirt? a nun’s? a nun of death
